[求助]drive with top of the car down是什么意思？

原句是：We like to eat outside, drive with the top of the car down, ande smell the glorious scent of jasmine at night.

从整句我大概可以知道，这是开着车到处走的意思。但是单就drive with the top of the car down为什么这么个用法？with the top of the car后面又加个down到底各表达的是什么不太明白。

有没有高人指教一下？我也是书到用时方恨少，实在是没招了！:L
